PILER’s partnership with FNV (a Dutch confederation of trade unions sympathetic to workers’ cause in South Asia), dates back to 1987 and with NOVIB to 1993. In the year 2000, PILER shifted to its own custom-designed building constructed on 2385 sq. yards of land, equipped with a hostel, mess, conference halls, library, and of course a spacious office area. A major part of the funding of the construction of the building came from Stitching de Zaaier besides other international friends and philanthropists.

Currently the project on “Promoting Social Justice: Education, Research and Mobilization for Labour Rights” is being funded by the FNV-NOVIB up to June this year (2008) and the one on “Promoting Decent Work through Tri-partite Consultation and Action” is supported by the Just Solutions Network, UK.
