PILER extends institutional support to the following grass-roots labour organizations:

  • Pakistan Fisher Folk (PFF)
  • All Pakistan Bhatta Mazdoor Union
  • Pakistan Textile Workers’ Union
  • All Pakistan Road Transport Workers’ Union
  • Pakistan Engineering Workers’ Union

The initial support was both financial and technical in nature. PILER also assisted these organizations in logistics and offered consultative services with a view to build capacity to mobilize and strengthen the collective labour struggle. The financial support was possible because of the generous funding by the European Union, Fdh, LSI under the project titled “Empowering Vulnerable Workers”.

At present, PILER collaborates with these organizations to hold awareness campaigns, seminars, conferences and other field-related activities. PILER’s partnership with these organizations has emerged as a powerful force in mobilizing labour force and in taking up advocacy campaigns on pressing labour issues.

PILER also supports and facilitates Anjuman-e-Mazareen-e-Punjab, an independent national peasant movement. PILER is also a member organization of Alliance Against Sexual Harassment (AASHA). In streamlining the campaign on national peace, PILER works in close association with South Asian Partnership, Pakistan (SAP-PK) and South Asian Partnership, International.

On the regional front, PILER has allied with South Asian Alliance for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE) in 2005. Center for Education and Communication (CEC), India and PILER jointly function as co-conveners of South Asian Labour Forum, a forum built for coordinating the struggles and mobilizing the labour organizations of the region.
